HIGH MEADOW

On a sloping site above Carmel, Ground Studio worked closely with renowned architect Jerry Lomax to develop a landscape that celebrates his design for a distinctly modern house.

The house is carefully placed to highlight views toward Point Lobos and mark a clear north-south definition in the landscape. On the north side, lines are blurred between the driveway and courtyard spaces with varied textures of crushed stone and artfully placed cape rush. On the south side, we planted native live oaks, manzanitas, ceanothus, and drought-tolerant grasses to contrast with the architecture.

This was a special opportunity for us to work with Jerry and see his final design come to fruition.
